In order to compete in the Florida Academy League, Thiago Messi will join the U-12 squad of Inter Miami, following in the footsteps of his legendary footballing father, Lionel Messi. The youth club at Inter Miami has extended a warm welcome to Lionel Messi’s eldest kid. Thiago Messi, 10, is the newest player to join Inter Miami’s U-12 team. The youngster is keen to make his own career in the world of the beautiful game and follow in his father’s illustrious footsteps.

While his father’s influence on the first squad continues to be significant, Thiago Messi’s path will continue as a part of Inter Miami’s youth development.

Thiago Messi has joined the U-12 team, according to a brief statement on the official website of Inter Miami. Meanwhile, Lionel Messi participated in a large event hosted by Inter Miami at prime time on the ‘Bienvenido, Messi’ Apple TV channel.

While waiting for his work permit to be approved, Thiago Messi has joined the Diego Garcia-coached Inter Miami youth team. Harvey Neville, the son of Phil Neville, and Romeo Beckham, the son of David Beckham, have both recently participated in Inter Miami’s program for developing young talent.

Inter Miami CF Academy’s preseason practices started early this month, laying the groundwork for an exciting new season. In the upcoming season, Inter Miami’s youth squads, notably the U-17 team, will compete in the MLS NEXT league. While the U-19 team will continue to participate in the United Premier Soccer League (UPSL), the U-12 team will compete in the Florida Academy League.

Inter Miami’s football academy, which opened in September 2019, has made tremendous progress quickly. Inter Miami has signed professional contracts with six academy players, including Edison Azcona, Benjamin Cremaschi, Ian Fray, David Ruiz, Noah Allen, and Felipe Valencia.

Notably, five of them made their MLS debuts during the 2023 campaign, greatly aiding Inter Miami’s successes. These players, Benjamin Cremaschi and David Ruiz serving as examples, were essential to Inter Miami’s success in the 2023 Leagues Cup. Under David Beckham’s ownership, this was the club’s first championship in history.

Victor Pastora, the director of Inter Miami, commented on the performance of the academy: “Following an extremely successful 2022–2023 season, we look forward to another outstanding year. The players, their devoted parents, and our dedicated staff are all cordially invited.

“Our academy program is created to give young South Florida players the tools they need to achieve their goals. We respect this privilege by making it our daily mission to help them reach their full potential,” Pastora added.

He continued, “Our focus extends to creating ties with every youth soccer development initiative across South Florida and nurturing collaborative relationships with clubs. We express our gratitude to owners and sporting directors for their unwavering support, which has given us a great foundation on which to achieve our goals.

Victor Pastora has over 25 years of coaching expertise with both adolescents and adults. He has served in a variety of capacities as a technical director and coach. Recently, Victor Pastora led the U-15 squad from Inter Miami Academy to the national title in MLS Next 2022.

Along with Thiago Messi, a number of up-and-coming players are prepared to join Inter Miami’s U-12 squad. One of the nine new youngsters joining Inter Miami at the U-12 level is Lionel Messi’s oldest son. Lionel Messi has two other sons, Mateo Messi and Ciro Messi, in addition to Thiago Messi.
